The Capuchin friars of the Philippine Province gathered last May
26 at the sprawling
Capuchin Retreat Center in Lipa
City to collectively discern and chart their path for the next
triennium. Sixty-six friars, the Custos of the Custody of
Malaysia-Singapore, and two simple-professed observers attended
this keystone event which was led by the General Minister of the
Order, Br. Mauro Johri. The General Definitor for Asia, Br. John
Antony, was also present as well as Br. Charles Serignat who
served as Br. Mauro's able translator.
During this 9th Provincial Chapter, the friars resolved six
proposals concerning the administration of properties, the
creation of fraternities, and missionary endeavors. A new
Definitory was also formed led by Br. Cesar Acuin as the new
Provincial Minister. |
